//CHUNKYNESS

Céline just showed in Paris and no surprise – I really like the chunky shoes. Especially the black ones. I’m sure they’ll be one of the most hyped items next season.

//BALENCIAGA SS12

1/10 2011 · 2 Comments

It’s such a beautiful collection from Balenciaga. In my opinion the best we’ve seen from Paris so far. I’m totally into those ultrashort shorts with the boxy jackets and tops, the highwaisted pants and of course – the bags (which like this season are to be carried in the hand and not on the shoulder).

During the next couple of days some of my other favourite designers such as Cacharel, Givenchy, Céline, Stella McCartney, Chloé, YSL and Miu Miu will show wthat’s on their mind for SS12. Can’t wait. And then there’s of course Chanel and Louis Vuitton…

//CARVEN SS12

29/9 2011 · 3 Comments

I love when the fashion week hits Paris where most of my favourite designers are showing. Carven is for sure one of them. It’s wearable, affordable (almost) and I love the girly quirkyness, which characterizes the French house. The ss12 collection is colorful and with classic Carven-pieces like the highwaisted shorts, the collars and the cutouts. Nothing new, but very pretty and very chic. I especially love the bottom look with the cropped top and the pencilskirt. Gorgeous.

//DRIES VAN NOTEN SS12

29/9 2011 · 3 Comments

One of my friends just texted me: “OMFG. Check Dries van Noten. You’re gonna fucking love it. It’s so beautiful.” And he’s absolutely right. I’m in love. Amazing prints, silhuettes, colors and accessories. Instant cravings are the short grey/black jacket, the sunglasses (all of them) and the two bottom looks with strappy sandals, slim pants and voluminous dresses.

//BURBERRY PRORSUM SPRING SUMMER 2012

20/9 2011 · 4 Comments

One of my favorite collections this season (or S/S 2012 that is) is undoubtedly Burberry Prorsum. Wow, I was blown away by the beauty of it. Unfortunately it just does not come into its own on the pictures on Style.com but really, it’s amazing. Loads of crochet, beadings and colors. Pencil skirts, wedges and clutches…. ohh yeah and some gorgeous statement necklaces. I’m obsessed with the green jacket, the blue striped skirt and the multicolored clutch. Give me, give me, give me. It has a very ethnic and tribal vibe to it – and I really, really, really wish I could afford it. I think Christopher Bailey is a genius. As we told you before, the Burberry-shows are always in a completely other league than any other show. The venue is always amazing – and everything is perfect – down to every little detail, the models are the biggest models (Arizona Muse, Abbey Lee Kershaw just to mention a few) and the stars are the absolute A-listers, It’s quite the fashiontale. After the show I went backstage to take a few close-uos of the clothes, the models and the stars.

//ACNE SS12

I really find it hard to miss out on London Fashion Week this season. I have been there for the last couple of years and I always enjoy it. London is really special to me and one of the reasons I love the fashion week in London so much is that it is packed with talent, the parties are great and I know so many amazing people there. That being said Paris is of course the fashion capital of the world and one of my greatest fashion experiences was to attend the Stella McCartney show two seasons ago. That was fantastic. Anyways, London has this great mix of upcoming and established designers and it breaks my heart that I wasn’t there to see Burberry, Mulberry and Acne this season. Luckily both Acne and Burberry were livestreaming their shows – though it’s nothing compared to being there.

Acne showed a colorful and really interesting collection yesterday in London and once again I’m impressed with how they keep renewing themselves. Apparently Acne designer Jonny Johansson was inspired by a trip to Morocco, which is especially noticeable when you look at the cropped pants, the colors and the shoes (which I btw love). In Jonny’s world Morocco meets sport and by adding caps, shorts, updated T-shirts, sporty jackets and a couple of stars the collection turned out really amazing (all though I’m not blown away like I usually am). What do you think of it?

//MULBERRY S/S 2012

18/9 2011 · 8 Comments

I started my day at the Claridge’s which is where Mulberry held the presentation for their Spring/Summer 2012-collection. Outside the venue an old-school ice cream truck offered the show guests old-school sodas and ice creams. And inside I was greeted by 100′s of balloon animals in what was some sort of a safari theme. What a way to start the day. Is no secret that Mulberry like their dogs – a fact that was pretty evident at the front row where more than 20 guests had brought their four-legged friends. Pretty cute. Bobo would have fit right in. The collection was really beautiful and I particularly like the lace dresses/skirts/tops, the brown leather shorts, the shoes and the transparent skirts. I liked how Mulberry styled the shoes with small socks that was folded down. It really looks great. Both Kate Moss, Olivia Palermo, Irina Lazareanu and Kristen Stewart attended the show. Tonight I’m going back to the Claridge’s because Mulberry are having a party there. I’m sure it’ll be fun. Thora, Maiken and I already decided that we are definitely going to wear the big glasses from the Mulberry goodie bag. I’ll return with pictures from the party.

//FROYO, CLEOBELLA AND BOYY

16/9 2011 · 3 Comments

It’s so hot here… stuffy heavy air and after walking a block you feel like going back home and shower. Thunderstorms on the way for sure. A lot of FroYo is needed.
Continuing with the poppy color theme. Here are a few things I saw at the Steven Alan showroom (they have a great multibrand shop as well). For those of you who know me this whole color thing must be very confusing as I am not very colorful if at all. However I very much appreciate the look and can see the appeal it has and find it fun and inspiring to work around a look that is out of my comfort zone.
Steven Alan represent both established and upcoming brand which is always interesting when you stop by. I like taking a look at upcoming designers – especially when quality is in focus. They do a lot of bag designers.
The Cleobella bags are all designed in LA and made in Bali and has a very vintage inspired feel to them. The attention to detail is amazing. It is not a style of bag that really suits me style wise, but on a different type of girl they would be great. The clutch however is on my wish list.
They also represent BOYY who is more established by now. I have been a fan for many seasons and remember going crazy when they first launched the envelope looking Slash bag. I really like the new style called Yeeshi (the grey and yellow ones in the pictures) – it is a more grown up looking style compared to the Slash.
I will be going to see mm6 Martin Margiela today at the Staff Headquarters as I have a buying appointment scheduled there. I freelance as a consultant and will do a selection for a shop in Copenhagen. I have worked with the collection often before so it will be fun!
Tonight a party at Le Bain (a magazine launch party). I’m going home tomorrow evening so need to enjoy my last night here.
Tomorrow agent meetings regarding BLAKE – exciting !

//PROENZA SCHOULER SS12

16/9 2011 · 3 Comments

I’m sure we’re gonna see a lot of Proenza Schouler in the blogsphere the upcoming days. No doubt it was the New York show, which I looked the most forward to see. And fortunately I wasn’t disappointed. In fact I apparently love everything they do. The Proenza-duo had been inspired by 1950s car interiors (hence the tigerprint and the painted wooden heels) and Googie architecture (questionable taste architecture) and really ended up with a bad taste gone good-collection.

My favourite items are the cropped shirts and jackets, the shorts, the camerabag and the orange/flowerprinted dress. I would do a lot to get that piece into my wardrobe. Not really sure about the platform clogs. I like the chunky look and the painted wood, but that square stub heel doesn’t do it for me. Yet.

I read somewhere that they always try to work with new materials to make it even harder for the high street to copy. This season they came up with papered eel-skin and raffia that had been woven into knits and dresses. And that’s another reason to love Proenza Schouler. They’re original.

//LIFE IN TECHNICOLOR

14/9 2011 · 7 Comments

Yesterday I started out visiting the Rag & Bone showroom in the Meatpacking district. They have a great location. Huge collection in bright colors – instant summer cravings!

The collection has developed a lot the past seasons. I have been a fan in the making for a while and this season I was really impressed. Fantastic quality and really clever and surprising fabrics… a sporty/beachy vibe beautifully entwined with classical pieces (they do the best blazers). They have an experimental look for a contemporary brand but are very very wearable… you can go dressy but also very basic, so lots of great options for an everyday wardrobe as well.
Bright colors are everywhere – Rag & Bone made no exception. I will be looking for some of their ss12 pieces for sure next spring.
One favorite was a black mesh trench – such a great take on an iconic item! And looked great when layered over colorful pieces so you really could see the mesh effect.
I don’t even think Rag & Bone is available at any stores in Copenhagen at the moment. Very strange considering how established they are becoming and how very accessible the collection actually is. Somebody pick it up, please!
Later on BLAKE meetings and in the afternoon a visit to Steven Alan showroom on Franklin… more to follow (need to go through a billion photos first).
In the evening we went out with a friend for dinner at Robataya (very tasty japanese ). Ended up sitting opposite Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz. Unfortunately I am too polite to try and snap pictures in situations like that…  later drinks and more accidental celebrity stalking at The Standard where Terry Richardson, Samantha Ronson and Olivier Zahm  among others had dinner outside… lots of flashbulbs so I am sure you can stalk their style by googeling…
Anyway, those things makes you feel that you are in a big city which is fun when you live in a small city at home.
xx
