//HAND TOOLS

23/9 2011 by Marie//A Fashion Tale · 4 Comments

Three things I always carry in my bag: Mavapen nutritive oil for cuticles by Mavala, Purely age-defying hand treatment by Jurlique and Lavender hand purifying gel by L’Occitane. I hate the feeling of dry or dirty hands and this is my little survival kit.

Dry cuticles have never looked good and besides treating the cuticles (which is good in itself) the Mavapen really makes your hands look so much better and well-groomed. The Hand purifying gel from L’Occitane is the best I’ve ever tried. A pleasent-smelling (hand sanitizers never smell good, but this one really does) handwash-on-the-go, which doesn’t make your hands dry. I’m addicted.  As for the hand treatment, I have always been a fan of Jurliques hand creams. They smell lovely and leaves your hands soft and never greasy. Normally I use the lavender or rose cream, but I got a gift card to Feelunique and decided to try this one instead. It’s a bit more expensive, but also a bit more caring as it evens and brightens the skin.

//THE COS THING

22/9 2011 by Marie//A Fashion Tale · 8 Comments

Those of you who follow us at Facebook or read the comments in the recent post about the black leathersleeved coats might noticed that a dear reader (who happens to work in Cos) shared some great news with us. Apparently Cos is opening a webshop. No date has yet been set, but I cross my fingers and hope for it to be soon. And pray that it is not just some rumor. We’ll keep you updated…  Till then I might have to get Lotte to buy me the grey dress. Love the mustard skirt as well, but can’t decide if it is too similar to the skirt I have from Acne. What do you think?

//CARVEN STREETSTYLE

22/9 2011 by Lotte//A Fashion Tale · 6 Comments

Can I just again tell you how much I love Carven? Well, I do. I love this knitted sweater. So fun and cool… and so expensive. I actually think her whole outfit is Carven, at least the pants as well. Normally Carven is always styled so sweet, innocent and girly but this girl sure gives it some rock-attitude with the pink tie-dye-something, messy hair and the red lips.

Picture: Afashiontale

//RESEMBLE

I love a mannish coat and this season it’s all you need to stay warm. The one from The Row (left) has these cool quilted leathersleeves, which makes it standout (and also makes it cost a fortune). Fortunately you can always count on Zara to do some great coats in a great quality. Right now this woolen coat with leather-sleeves is not to miss. I tried it in London some weeks ago and the fit is perfect.

//OTHER SHOWS WORTH NOTICING

22/9 2011 by Lotte//A Fashion Tale · 2 Comments

I’m a true Altuzzarra-fan. I have a serious crush on the shoes (picture 7 and 9), the belt (picture 8), the green knitted sweater (look 2) and for sure the print. Wow. Behind the brand is Joseph Altuzzarra and I’m sure we’ll definitely see some of his clothes on the fashionistas out there, I’m think Anna Dello Russo.

Theyskens’ Theory is another brand I get excited about. I’m seriously craving the white dress (look 1), the leather pants (look 2) and the leather top (look 3).  Still remember meeting Olivier Theyskens in Paris last year. The poor guy really just wanted to go to the restroom but I kept hanging on to him because I really wanted a picture. OMG! Sorry Olivier.

So many great wardrobe staples in A.L.C’s Spring Summer 2012 collection. There is actually at least an item (or more) in each look that I would really really like to add to my closet. I’m all about look 5 and 8…. luckily at least look 5 is pretty easy to copy. I’m still searching for a cool white shirt – perhaps I should have a closer look at A.L.C.

New York and London Fashion Week is now over. Bring on Milan and Paris.

And a little in Danish: Kære alle jer, der havde tænkt at deltage i tøjsalget søndag den 3. oktober.

//PRESS: ELLE RUSSIA OCTOBER 2011

20/9 2011 by Marie//A Fashion Tale · 14 Comments

Remember I had a visit from a photographer, a stylist and a beautiful Stella McCartney dress a month ago in London? It was for a feature in ELLE Russia – and it’s out now! The stylist, Roza Sinaysky, dressed me in my own clothes and mixed it with lots of lots of snakes. I love the skirt I’m wearing at the top picture. It’s from Michael Kors and available at My-wardrobe. It was so me.   Thank you so much ELLE Russia for featuring me in your October issue – all snaked up.

//BURBERRY PRORSUM SPRING SUMMER 2012

20/9 2011 by Lotte//A Fashion Tale · 4 Comments

One of my favorite collections this season (or S/S 2012 that is) is undoubtedly Burberry Prorsum. Wow, I was blown away by the beauty of it. Unfortunately it just does not come into its own on the pictures on Style.com but really, it’s amazing. Loads of crochet, beadings and colors. Pencil skirts, wedges and clutches…. ohh yeah and some gorgeous statement necklaces. I’m obsessed with the green jacket, the blue striped skirt and the multicolored clutch. Give me, give me, give me. It has a very ethnic and tribal vibe to it – and I really, really, really wish I could afford it. I think Christopher Bailey is a genius. As we told you before, the Burberry-shows are always in a completely other league than any other show. The venue is always amazing – and everything is perfect – down to every little detail, the models are the biggest models (Arizona Muse, Abbey Lee Kershaw just to mention a few) and the stars are the absolute A-listers, It’s quite the fashiontale. After the show I went backstage to take a few close-uos of the clothes, the models and the stars.

//HAPPY FASHION WEEK

20/9 2011 by Marie//A Fashion Tale · 6 Comments

NYFW Spring 2012 from David Sherwin on Vimeo.

I’m sure you’ve all seen the genius Lanvin fall 2011 campaign movie with the dancing models (and if not, watch it here). David Sherwin did the happiest remade of the campaign video at NY fashion week – with fashion people instead of models. It’s impossible not to smile.

//ACNE SS12

19/9 2011 by Marie//A Fashion Tale · 7 Comments

I really find it hard to miss out on London Fashion Week this season. I have been there for the last couple of years and I always enjoy it. London is really special to me and one of the reasons I love the fashion week in London so much is that it is packed with talent, the parties are great and I know so many amazing people there. That being said Paris is of course the fashion capital of the world and one of my greatest fashion experiences was to attend the Stella McCartney show two seasons ago. That was fantastic. Anyways, London has this great mix of upcoming and established designers and it breaks my heart that I wasn’t there to see Burberry, Mulberry and Acne this season. Luckily both Acne and Burberry were livestreaming their shows – though it’s nothing compared to being there.

Acne showed a colorful and really interesting collection yesterday in London and once again I’m impressed with how they keep renewing themselves. Apparently Acne designer Jonny Johansson was inspired by a trip to Morocco, which is especially noticeable when you look at the cropped pants, the colors and the shoes (which I btw love). In Jonny’s world Morocco meets sport and by adding caps, shorts, updated T-shirts, sporty jackets and a couple of stars the collection turned out really amazing (all though I’m not blown away like I usually am). What do you think of it?
